Why did my printer with new ink cartridge fail to print?

Faulty ink cartridges are common occurrence that can be found even with popular brands such as Lexmark, HP and Dell. There are many reasons that can lead to the problems. Before ink cartridges are released from the factory, each of them is to be tested and weighed to ensure that it contains a standard amount of ink as it is labelld.

The most common reason for a faulty ink cartridge usually derives from its packing position. Leaving ink cartridges rested on their sides or upside for extended periods of time (weeks or months) will sometimes cause the ink to gradually settle away from the print head.

In such situation, placing the concerning cartridge the right side up for a few minutes is always enough to restore the correct ink balance. To improve the effect, you should hold the cartridge over a damp paper towel that has been folded into quarters for a minimum of 3 minutes. Doing this will help pull the ink out of the print heads which will in turn prime them for printing.
Once you have successfully done this, install the cartridge back in your printed and resume printing.
Why didn't my cartridge print a full amount of pages? Why was the yield lower than what is quoted online?

Customers are concerned about the yield of the cartridges they purchased. It is an illusion that the yield of a cartridge is measured by the length of time from the date they began to used because the percentage coverage of the page is what really accounts.

Typical cartridge yield specified by the manufacturing company are typically calculated at 5% coverage and this is the amount of ink required to print short memos per page. Printing photos, letters, web pages or similar printing tasks that are graphic intensive will have significantly higher coverage percentages. To such kind of users the cartridge yield will be correspondingly reduced.
To check correctly for the yield of your cartridge, you can take any of these two methods.
* The first method is to use the page count option that is found on most printers using the instructions found on the user’s manual.
* The second method is to count the number of boxes of paper that you have used per cartridge and using any of these methods will give you a rough idea of how many pages you can successfully expect to print with a cartridge.
These methods, however, only provide you with a rough estimation of what you can expect to print.
To improve the accuracy of your estimation, you should also take into account the type of printing that you commonly do. Memos will fall closer to the manufacturers yield specification because they are within their outlined percentage coverage area. Full page letters or pictures will have significantly lower yields. A 4,000 page yield cartridge might therefore run out after only 800 pages of full page graphic or text printing.
Why did I get an error message when I installed my new cartridge?

There are a number of different error messages that you may encounter when installing a new cartridge. The following are a list of these and the effective troubleshooting techniques that you can use to handle such situation. However, if none of these methods are successful in correcting the error, please contact us .

What to do when:
* A message indicates that there is no cartridge installed
* A message asks you to check your black/color inkjet cartridge
* The cartridge light blinks on the printer
* A message asks you to replace your black/color inkjet cartridge
* A message indicats that the cartridge is not seated properly.
How to fix the problem: Cartridges without an internal print head?

Cartridges without print heads usually occur when the printer chip cannot contact fully with the sensors of the printer. To resolve this, you need to open the part of the printer that contains your installed cartridges. Take out the problematic cartridge and then place it back again to ensure that it is installed properly.

Remember, the printer chip should be lined up with the printer’s sensor. After you have done this, replace the printer cover and then turn off the printer for a few seconds before restarting. If the problem is still there please feel free to contact our Customer Service Department.
Cartridges with an internal print head
This problem usually occurs when the cartridge is not able to contact properly with the printer. This might be the result of an blocked print head. To fix the problem, remove the problematic cartridge and clean the print head by using a cotton bud or cotton ball dipped in alcohol. Once you have cleaned it properly, turn the printer on and reinstall the cartridge. Again, it is important that you install the cartridge properly. If your cartridge is placed properly the problem should be effectively resolved. If the problem still exists, please contact our Customer Service Department.
Why am I being told that my new cartridge was empty when I installed it initially?

Such case is rare, but when it does appear, don't panic. Ink E-Sale's cartridges are produced by a reputable manufactuer via standard assembline under ISO quality control system, and all the products have gone through a strict product check before they are packed for sale. Each cartridge will be checked to ensure that it is properly filled with the right amount of ink. If you are told empty cartridge when you load a new cartridge, it is not necessarily true that it contains no ink. You should check to make sure that cartridge is properly installed and seated in its slot. Try to reinstall it and see if it works. The cartridge should snap into the slot with a snap when it is securely installed.

Your printer might also be guilty of incorrectly predicting the ink level of your cartridge. Printers calculate the amount of ink left in a cartridge by comparing the number of pages that were printed when the earlier cartridge was used. You will therefore get an ‘empty cartridge’ message if you install a new cartridge immediately after the old one is exhausted without resetting the printer drive.

To resolve this problem, consult your printer manual and reinstall your cartridge using the new cartridge option. By doing so will reset the internal page counter of the printer and correct the false error message. If this still does not help, please contact our Customer Service Department for more assistance.

How do I remove dried ink out of my inkjet print head so that I can print again?

Remove the affected cartridge from the printer and place it in about ½ an inch of warm water and then wait for a few minutes. Once the ink begins to leak out of the cartridge, remove it from its position in water and dry it with a soft napkin or cotton swab. After you have dried it satisfactorily, reinstall it back into its original position. Clean the print head using your printers head cleaning utility. Repeat the process 2-4 times to restore optimal printing quality. If this does not clean the dried ink it is likely that your print head has been irreparably damaged. In this case you might need to buy a new one.

Why does the cartridge I received look bigger than the original one set in my printer?

When remanufactured, most of our cartridges are accompanied with an L shaped protective clip attached to the cartridge. You need to remove this clip before installing the cartridge. Do not forget to remove any other protective tape that might be on the cartridge alongside the protective clip. For further assistance, please contact our Customer Service Department.

What is “refilling cartridge”?

In a way of injection, cartridge is filled with ink or toner. It is done manually and it has been understood as an alternative way of replacing empty cartridges.

What is “remanufactured ink and toner cartridge”?

A remanufactured compatible printer cartridge is like a newly reborn OEM made in combination of new and recycled cartridge components. It is created by taking an original cartridge through a process of cleaning, examining, replacing worn out parts and filling it with toner or ink. It goes through a post testing to be checked with quality met. In most cases, the body of the cartridge is from the original actually made by the same manufacturer that made your printer. Many of the parts inside the cartridge are reused original components that may have been cleaned and left for a second life.

What is “new compatible ink and toner cartridge”?

A new compatible printer cartridge is made from all new parts which are closely copied to work as the original cartridge. None of the parts are recycled, and all components including plastics and aluminums are brand new.

Will my warranty be voided if I use compatible cartridges?

No it won’t. The existing warranty of your printer is still in effect even when you use our compatible cartridge products. The idea that using non-branded products with your supply will void the warranty of your printer is a rumour. Companies that choose to enforce this false law will be in violation of the Federals Trade laws (See the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act below). On the other hand, your warranty can legally not be honoured if the company can show that the fault of your printer was caused by your use of compatible products.

What do "With Chip" and "No Chip" mean?

We offer different models of ink cartridges with varying features. Amongst these are the Cli-8(BK/C/M/Y), the PGI-5BK, as well as several other toner cartridge. Most of these products are offered with two options: With or Without Chip.
More often than not, printers tend to have chips installed within the cartridge. Other printers however put the chip together with the cartridge. Buying cartridges that are identified to be ‘With Chip’ will therefore save you the trouble of installing a chip on the cartridge.

Cartridges however that are ‘Without chip’ will mean that you have to install a new pin on the fresh cartridge (preferably taking the pin that was used with the exhausted one).
How to install HP remanufactured cartridge?

When installing the remanufactured cartridge, follow the printer's screen and HP Solution Manager software as they prompt you with step by step instructions. You will be asked to:

1. Align the cartridges
2. Print out alignment page
3. Scan alignment page
If you install the cartridge but receive either message:
"Original HP ink has been deplated" or "refilled or Depleted Cartridges Detected"
Press OK to dismiss message.You will then be prompted to start the Alignment process.
Note: To avoid failed alignment, make sure that the quality of the alignment print out page is clear with no smudges or outlines. Use clean, blank paper for all alignment printouts.
Warmly tips: Run" Clean print cartridge" after installing the remanufactured cartridge for the best result.
Important note: Most remanufactured cartridges won't show an ink level or low level reading, this is normal. All of them are fully filled.

How to install Canon or Lexmark remanufactured cartridge?

1. Remove the cartridge from its packaging and insert it into your printer making sure it replaces the correct color.
2. The cartridge is refilled to maximum capacity. A window may popup indicating that the cartridge is empty or low, disregard and closes the message box.
3. It is normal if the printer's button starts to flash after you install the cartridge. Press and hold the flashing button or stop/reset button for 5-10 seconds and repeat it 3 to 5 times until the light turns off.
